Tyler Grissman is the Owner and Director of Design/Build Services at Phillips Garden. With a deep appreciation for plants, place, and craftsmanship, Tyler brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to creating landscapes that feel enduring, functional, and deeply connected to their surroundings.

Before becoming owner, Tyler spent over 20 years working within the company, guiding projects from concept through completion and collaborating closely with clients, crews, and design partners. This experience gave him a rare, ground-up understanding of the business—how great landscapes are not only designed, but built, cared for, and sustained over time.

Tyler’s work sits at the intersection of horticulture, regional ecology, and modern design, grounded in a practical understanding of how landscapes function in daily life. He gravitates toward projects where clear spatial structure and durable materials provide a framework for dynamic plantings - gardens that evolve over time, support pollinators and wildlife, and grow richer with each passing season.

Under Tyler’s leadership, Phillips Garden continues its long-standing commitment to quality, integrity, and client relationships, while thoughtfully evolving to meet the needs of today’s homeowners.

Outside of work, Tyler can often be found outdoors with his family - fly fishing, biking, camping, or exploring wild places that continually inform his design perspective.
